The Various Types of Kitchen Lighting

When we are decorating our kitchen, attention should be given to kitchen lighting. There are various choices available in the form of recessed, decorative and accent lighting. The type of lighting you will select will depend on the size of the kitchen, its color combination, cabinet finish and the placement of doors and windows.

If you want to have hygienic and safe food, the kitchen lighting should be properly placed. In every kitchen, central pendant lighting gives a general lighting to the room. But you should also have high level of lighting near your worktop, fridge, and sink, cooker so that you have ample light to complete your task properly and see properly when you cook.

Nowadays most of the new modular kitchen have inbuilt light in it like the cooker hoods come with inbuilt lightings. You can also have a custom built cupboard with it. Without a central pendant light, you can put lights inside the ceiling, set it wide apart so that the light flows evenly on both the sides of the room.

All your work units should have fluorescent lights so that, these lights also spreads to your work surface. You can use accent lighting to cabinets, cookers or even art work. Down lights or wall lights, shelf lights can be used in the kitchen which increases the ambiance of your kitchen.

You can mix various types of kitchen lights and fixtures and create space; this can be achieved by layering. For example, near the sink and the space, you use task lighting whereas near the dinning area you arrange for pendant lighting.

Over you kitchen island also, you have to use pendant lighting so that it illuminates the whole area. Also if you have a kitchen window, let it remain open throughout the day so as to get ample sunlight in the kitchen.

Under cabinet lighting provides illumination to a gloomy area as well as the same light is reflected to the work surface which makes preparing food easier. Again if you have put decorative glassware in the cabinet, under cabinet lights also illuminates whatever you have places inside the cabinet.

You can fit a standard compact fluorescent light which are highly efficient and lasts longer under your cabinets. The general lighting that is mostly used in all kitchens is called ambient lighting. Also track lights are one such light which reflects lights all over the area.

Bingo Entertainment is going places. It is going to venture into the online Bingo market and as we all know, online Bingo is a very lucrative business, not to mention its recent takeover of the Interactive Playnet Network. And it’s signing up of two totally new licenses! Bingo Entertainment is all set to become a much, much bigger corporation!

Not just that, it is set to take the UK bingo market by storm. For the last decade or so, Bingo Entertainment has mainly been focusing on the worldwide Bingo market and it has never really thought of offering a localized Bingo game. It has now declared, in a public statement that along with the acquisition of the Maltese gaming license, it is going to be launching Bingo sites solely dedicated to the UK market.

Richard Chambers, who is the CEO of Bingo Entertainment has said that their performance of their games and their network has gone from strength to strength over the past decade and since they have already established themselves as a force to reckon with the worldwide Bingo market, they have now decided to focus on the UK and develop country specific games.

They will launch their brand, Gina Bingo in the UK. Late March will see them launching their brand and in April, their network will make its debut. Sounds grand doesn’t it? Later in the year, they are set to take Italy and Spain by storm!

It is quite strange how Bingo Entertainment is continuing their efforts in expanding their network, whereas other Bingo networks are doing all they can to close all their doors. Chambers reveals his secret here as well. The people at Bingo Entertainment have always concentrated on quality and security. The safety of the game has been their main concern and these are the pillars on which their reputation has been built.

In fact, so strong is their reputation that their main marketing tool is their reputation and they build their network around their reputation. Since Bingo Entertainment’s reputation is a bankable commodity, people trust it and it has become synonymous with secure gaming!

Top Tips Which Will Help You with Bird Watching

Bird watching is something a lot of people like to do, but then there are many of us who have no clue when it comes to this. Now the first thing you need to do is make sure that you know which the different types of birds are. Get a bird guide which has the most intricate details about the birds. You should be able to tell a warbler from a wagtail.

Another tip is to ask fellow birdwatchers about the different types of birds and ask them to help you out. You even have different groups for birdwatchers; you can join any of these groups. You can also read up magazines on birds and even journals.

The next tip is to take a lot of sketches and even a lot of notes when you are bird watching. Every time you see a bird, try not to glance at the guide and try and recognize it yourself. Now once you know which bird it exactly is, make sure that you take notes about all of its intricate parts like the color of the feathers, the beak and so on. Also take notes about everything, ranging from the weather when the bird was sighted and so on.

The next tip, is to have a really good pair of binoculars. Now you don’t have to spend a lot of money on this, you can get really good ones at really affordable prices. Now ask friends who are bird watchers too about the type of binoculars to get.

Another thing is not to keep your binoculars in your case. By the time you open the case and you take the thing out the bird will have left. Now you should also carry them carefully, not dangling or in your hands, if they are damaged then you are the one who is going to lose out. Keep the binoculars around your neck so that it is against your chest and not your stomach and you will be comfortable.

Another thing which you will require along with the binoculars is a telescope. This way you can see the birds which are at longer ranges. Now if you really want to see some birds then you should probably learn a few of the bird calls. You have CD’s which are available for this purpose. Just follow these simple things and you will become an excellent bird watcher.

Dating Dilemmas?

You’re son comes home one day, an absent smile playing on his lips. He seems very preoccupied and totally dazed. When you ask him if he’s okay, he answers that he’s fine, a tad too quickly, but you have no way of finding out what the matter is. You’re flummoxed! But here’s an insight into your child’s mind – he’s just back from a successful date!

Hard to believe? You’re probably dismissing this reason already because it’s not possible, your son is just twelve! He doesn’t fully understand what dating means! Well, here’s another tip for you, he’s dating alright and even though he’s not very clued about dating, he’s not too clueless either!

Face it, kids are growing up at an alarmingly fast pace these days! No, not physically, but mentally, they’re maturing way faster than you or me! It’s a scary thing, this evolution! It hits you when you least expect it to.

So what can you do as a parent? Don’t even think of grounding your son, it’s not going to work! He’ll only rebel and go on more dates! In fact, he might even get physical with his “girlfriend” and there’s nothing more scary than that since he doesn’t understand the importance of protection.

As a parent, the first thing you can do is sit down and explain to your son what dating exactly is. Or better still, why not have the “talk” with him! He’s prepared for it, let me tell you! You also need to understand that your son is mentally more mature than you were at twelve.

Then, when the opportunity arises and your son is in a good mood, tell him that you are against him dating anyone this early. Yet, at the same time, you don’t mind if he goes out in a group with his friends of the opposite sex. You can even call them over for some supervised “fun time”! That way, you’ll at least be aware of what your son is up to! Make your house, your son and his friends’ hangout, it might be a bit of trouble, but it’s worth it, for your peace of mind!

A recent survey reveals that if a child has been on his first date between the ages of 11 and 13, the chances of him being sexually active in high school are about 90%! Pretty scary that, eh? Well, do ensure that you do your bit to keep your child away from trouble!

The Dreaded Date!

You’re dreading the moment, but it is inevitable! You just can’t stop it from happening, you have to introduce the not-so-new man in your life to your son. It’s going to be hard and there will be some friction, but it is a necessary evil! By keeping your son in the dark about your relationship, you are not only being unfair to him, you’re also undermining the importance of your partner in your life.

It is very important to pick your moment carefully. There is no point introducing someone who you’re dating casually to your kids. It just doesn’t make sense to do that and moreover, it doesn’t set a very good example. How many such “would-be dads” will float in and out of your life? You should introduce your child to your partner, only when you’re thinking of something long-term and when you’re sure that they’re going to be around next month.

It is cruel to introduce your child to a prospective father or mother only to tell them in a month’s time that they won’t be coming around anymore. Your child will form an attachment to your date and is going to expect to “live happily ever after”, but that’s not going to happen and your child will be crushed.

The best thing to do, before you introduce your kids to your date, is to prepare both parties. Explain to your kids what you’re about to do so that it isn’t a total shock to them when you decide to bring home your date. At the same time, acquaint your partner about your children, their likes and dislikes and other interesting things about them which will play a part in breaking the ice. In fact, my son and my partner, who lives with us, share a common interest in photography! They sit together and talk about it for hours and hours!

Another mistake that parents make, while introducing their children to their partner is that they tend to tell them to be on their best behavior! That is taboo! You need to let your children be themselves and as relaxed as they can be, because no matter how hard you try, it’s going to be a very awkward encounter, making it more difficult for your children will achieve nothing! Remember this, children’s feelings are fragile and delicate, make them your priority and do remember to make them feel that their opinions are important to you.
