Top Tips Which Will Help You with Bird Watching

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Bird watching is something a lot of people like to do, but then there are many of us who have no clue when it comes to this. Now the first thing you need to do is make sure that you know which the different types of birds are. Get a bird guide which has the most intricate details about the birds. You should be able to tell a warbler from a wagtail.

Another tip is to ask fellow birdwatchers about the different types of birds and ask them to help you out. You even have different groups for birdwatchers; you can join any of these groups. You can also read up magazines on birds and even journals.

The next tip is to take a lot of sketches and even a lot of notes when you are bird watching. Every time you see a bird, try not to glance at the guide and try and recognize it yourself. Now once you know which bird it exactly is, make sure that you take notes about all of its intricate parts like the color of the feathers, the beak and so on. Also take notes about everything, ranging from the weather when the bird was sighted and so on.

The next tip, is to have a really good pair of binoculars. Now you don’t have to spend a lot of money on this, you can get really good ones at really affordable prices. Now ask friends who are bird watchers too about the type of binoculars to get.

Another thing is not to keep your binoculars in your case. By the time you open the case and you take the thing out the bird will have left. Now you should also carry them carefully, not dangling or in your hands, if they are damaged then you are the one who is going to lose out. Keep the binoculars around your neck so that it is against your chest and not your stomach and you will be comfortable.

Another thing which you will require along with the binoculars is a telescope. This way you can see the birds which are at longer ranges. Now if you really want to see some birds then you should probably learn a few of the bird calls. You have CD’s which are available for this purpose. Just follow these simple things and you will become an excellent bird watcher.

Look thinner…Instantly With These Tips!

Monday, March 1st, 2010

The other day, I was walking down the street and I happened to glance at my reflection on a shiny glass door. I was quite surprised by the fact that I looked a lot slimmer than I actually was. Mind you, I had weighed myself that very morning and I was quite put out about the fact that I had gained 3 pounds!

It turns out that it was all due to the way I had dressed for that day and it was all a coincidence! I have to say, it was a pretty lucky one though! So I devoted all my energies to finding out more slimming tips and tricks and I’m here to share them all with you! Feel free to borrow from them!

• If you’re top heavy, like me, then try wearing tops which have a loose fit which taper down to hug your waist and hip area. This nicely draws attention to the contrast between your comparatively narrower waist and your heavy chest area.

• Also, while you’re picking out clothes, go in for thin fabrics, like cotton or jersey material.

• Also, dress in a single color, throughout. This adds much needed height to your figure!

• If you’re not curvy, then wear clothes with a lot of colorful prints and patterns. They give you curves which you never thought you had!

• If you have an apple shaped figure, pick out clothes with vertical or diagonal lines, it has a nice slimming effect.

• Also, wear tops which are longer than the normal tee shirt. Make sure they cover your hip region!

• If you have an apple shaped figure, you can freely try out suits, jackets and dresses with a shirt waist. Their classic lines and cuts are very, very flattering!

• If you’re one of those people who are gifted with an hourglass figure (or one of those people who work furiously to maintain it!), then you can go in for V-necked outfits.

• Also, wear a belt at your waist to emphasize its slenderness. Few thinks look smarter or chicer!

• Wear fabrics which drape well so that you can show off your perfect figure! It’s no wonder that women blessed with hourglass bodies are traffic stoppers.

• Lastly, if you’re on the shorter side, like me, then wear a lot of dresses, which are knee-length, or shorter.

With these slimming tips, you surely can’t go wrong! Have fun fooling people!

Top Tips Which Will Help You Have a More Pleasant Flight

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Many people don’t enjoy travelling especially when they have to take a flight. Some are simply scared out of their wits when it comes to flying, while others don’t really find it very comfortable. But then, there are certain tips which helps to make your flight a more enjoyable and pleasing one.

Now the first thing you need to do is make sure that you wear clothes which aren’t that body hugging. If you wear clothing which is tight then after you have had your meal you will feel quite uncomfortable. Now, most flights usually give you blankets but then you might just feel cold even if you have one, so the best thing to do would be to carry something warm with you in your carry on.

You should also opt out for a meal which is light, when you are on board. If you want to try and avoid any sort of gastric problems when you are flying, then this is the best thing to do. You might be tempted to have the entire tasty thing that they serve on board, but you have to restrain yourself from having them.

Now dehydration is something which you must avoid while you are flying. So keep asking for water or any sort of liquid. But then when I say liquid, I mean anything which is non alcoholic. If you have alcohol at those very high altitudes then there is going to be a very intense effect which will take place on your body. So it is best that you avoid it.

You can also carry your moisturizer or your lip balm. This is because your skin might get dried up. So you can use these during the flight but then make sure that you have it in your hand baggage. Also if you are going for a long flight then you should probably carry your iPod or card or any thing which will help to entertain you.

You will be provided with in flight entertainment but then you also should have your own. Now if you have children with you then make sure that you get a seat which is in the aisle. This is because; children have a tendency to roam around the craft and to visit the bathroom frequently. You don’t wan tot keep disturbing people for this purpose.

Doggy Tips You Absolutely Must Read!

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

We’ve always had dogs in my family. In fact, my family seems incomplete without a dog! I absolutely adore them and thankfully so do my two kids and husband! They’re the cutest creatures around and they give a whole new definition to unconditional love! Yep, they’re there for you irrespective of how you treat them! That’s not to say that we’re nasty to our dogs!

Whoever said dogs are man’s best friend was a very wise man! No one could have put it better. If you need a shoulder to cry on, or if you’re lonely, then they’re always around, extending their paws of friendship. All they want in return? A little love and care! So here are the top dog care tips from my family stable! Hope they work for your canine friends!

1. For a healthy dog, exercise is an absolute must! No matter how much they like lazing around or stare at you beseechingly with those chocolate eyes, you need to harden your heart and take them out for a run!

2. Also, when you take your dog out for a walk; make sure he or she is walking ahead of you and not the other way around. In order to make up for your firmness (they hate going out for exercise!), give them a doggy treat at the end of the walk. This acts as an incentive, and if you make it a practice, you won’t have too much trouble coaxing them out!

3. Do make sure not to ensure any chocolate or anything excessively sugary in your doggy treats. Trust me; it’s like feeding your dog poison!

4. Keep aside some money for unexpected situations, such as illnesses or training classes. After all, you can never be too prepared.

5. Be sure to let your dog know who is in control. When you leave the house, dog in tow, make sure you walk out the door before him. This sends him a signal, a vibe of sorts, that he must obey you. Also, at bedtime, make sure they’re sleeping in their baskets. If they start whining or crying due to loneliness pangs, gently, but firmly insist that they stay put in their makeshifts bedrooms!

6. Last, but not the least, don’t forget to show him that you care. Shower him with your love and affection and he’ll fiercely protect you and your family, always. After all, you’re one of his pack!

Top Tips for Waking Up Early or Simply on Time

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Most people find it very difficult to wake up early in the morning. Sometimes they get late for work or school and so on because of this. Being a late sleeper as well as a late riser isn’t a very good habit, plus you get an extra amount of time in the morning when you get up early, so you can finish all your work or exercise and so on.

Now the most important thing to do is to get an ample amount of sleep everyday. Make sure that you get enough sleep the night before or you won’t be able to get up early. Or if you can, you can simply try and sleep in the afternoon or get a nap in the middle if you can manage it.

Now the best thing that you can do is go and sleep early. After all “early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”. Try not to stay up till midnight or even past that. Now usually people aren’t very productive at the end of the day. So if you simply cut out on time from the previous night and wake up early you will see that you are getting a lot done.

Now make sure that you get a “good night’s sleep”. Now you might get say around 8 hours of sleep but if you get up and then feel very tired after that then it isn’t effective enough. So make sure that you are comfortable enough so that you can get peaceful sleep which will make you feel refreshed.

Now usually when you hear the alarm going off or someone waking you up, you ask for an extra 5 minutes or so. Try to avoid doing this, this way you will simply keep falling off to sleep and you won’t be able to wake up on time. also try and simply “jump” in literal sense, out of your bed. Now if you do this, you wont be in your comfort zone anymore so this is very effective.

Also don’t active the snooze button on your alarm, have the alarm on and the volume up really high. Also make sure that you cannot reach the alarm so when it continues to ring you wont be able to turn it off and then get back to sleep again.
