Just when you thought the drama with Tiger Woods couldn’t get any worse, it just did. Accenture which was one of the major companies for which Woods would advertise had announced of Sunday that they would drop him from their label. Now this company is the first company which dropped the Tiger from their family and who knows how many more are going to do the same.
According to a statement made by a representative of the company, “Given the circumstances of the last two weeks, after careful consideration and analysis, the company has determined that Woods is no longer the right representative for its advertising.” Tiger had been involved with the firm for six years and was working for a campaign which had the slogan “Go on, be a Tiger”. Now the consultancy company is planning on moving on and starting a new type of campaign from next year.
Now this announcement made by Accenture was made the day after Gillette had released a statement saying that it would not completely cut all ties with Tiger but would simply not let him participate in advertisements or allow him to make any appearances in public for a time period which is not specified.
Now the other companies do not seem to be offended by this act. Electronic Arts which was supper to release Tiger Woods PGA Tour will go ahead with it, in the coming six months. Also Nike has also reiterated all their support for the Tiger. On the other hand, Gatorade has disposed of the Tiger woods drink and also there have been certain advertisements by Tag Heuer which has been put on a hold. But then these two companies say that this was not done because of Tigers behavior. It was simply a coincidence.
On the other hand coming to the Tigers marriage, Elin Nordegren, his 29 year old wife was finally seen for the first time ever since Wood’s scandal at a gas station. She was filling up her SUV and this was seen in Florida. But the noticeable thing about this picture was that she was not wearing her wedding ring. Now for someone who always wears the sparkling ring whenever she is out in public, it seems a bit strange to see her without it. So this is starting to spark up rumors about their marriage and what is going to happen.
